Nice little details...

I didnt know there was a mad max remake... Then again ive not watched many films made after Get Carter, but Mad Max (original) is in the list of those watched..

It's not a remake, its a follow on with Tom Hardy as Max (released in 2015).
Its a good film, I didnt enjoy it at first but several views after I love it, you would think its all cgi but its 95% live action, there's another one being made at the moment also.

I forgot to add the helmet I've done to go with the bike, an almost replica.

Biltwell Gringo with cheapo Amazon goggles, all needs roughing up a bit and to replicate the hindu figurine on the front.

That will look really good. I wonder who the first person to spot it out in the wild will be. Will be an impressive call if it ever happens….

Its a shame there were no rat-look choppers in Mad Max, they would have totally looked the part, but the speeds that those bikes were going was unreal!

That got me thinking about Lintek, looking back they supplied allsorts of Vespa and Lambretta parts, but in them days i wasnt bothered by it.
I had seats, pistons, cable wrap, body parts etc.
Seem to recall they sponsored events

Who owned them, where were they based, demise when scooter went unpopular?

Funny what you think about these days compared to years ago....

Back to some grass roots Lambretta building, remember this was once a affordable scene to be in.

Just acquired an over kick-start Fresco for the cutdown, it needs work, a swan neck and a u-bend before being re-chromed but cost me 40 quid!!!

Little bit of custom for the fuel tap, used 2 old miners brass checks from the pit closest to my house.

I've cut a new rear mudguard as I wasn't happy with it, it was too faffy.
The build is era specific and I'm in the mindset of an 18/19 year old striking miner on the picket line whilst building this bike on a budget.
I don't think the rear mudguard would have been shaped and fancy, just cutdown and passed on to a mate through the back doors of a chromers.

New mudguard on the bike for quick mock up after a little welding was needed.
Image

As mentioned in the previous post, I know I'm not re-inventing the wheel but the previous mudguard cut looked too modern.
Image

Needed a little more of the bottom
Image

And ready with gearchange and quick action throttle to go to the chromers tomorrow

I've just realised there's an update missing below the cable wrap post.

As ever this shifted to another build in April as I decided I wanted something on the road for my 40th birthday in may.
Fast forward to now and it's still on, life/work got in the way.

The bike im building is the one I had for sale earlier this year

Engine went over to Keith Goddard for its strip and rebuild on saturday.
I've traded him some Signwriting for the rebuild.

Thoughts on this, "hiding" the coil inside an old cigarette tin?
It will need modifying for the depth but I though quite a quirky idea.
