Reed petals

Hi all goin to change my reed petals on my ts1 and fit an mb manifold is it better to take engine out completely to fit or just drop exhaust shock n take bumpstop out ? (Will it give me enough space ) regards

I’m guessing this is on a TS1
Yes it’s fiddly but easy enough as I did it recently fitted new petals to my S2, you will need to loosen the head cowl
too to give easier access to bolts & remove the manifold

If you need more space, keep the shock on, put a big lump of wood beneath the stand and prop the back up too. You can then, carefully, remove the main ehnine bolt without disconnecting much else and lower the engine a couple of extra inches. More blocks of wood are useful to balance the engine on, and check things like fuel lines and stair cables before pulling the bolt out.
