SIP sensor on a drum hub

Postby Topgearskin » Sun Jul 25, 2021 7:03 am

Has anyone got any pictures of their SIP speed sensor set ups using a drum hub? I'm struggling to find a suitable mounting point for the bracket that allows the sensor to come anywhere near anything that would trigger the sensor

Hi - i tried for ages to get one to work consistently but eventually gave up. I now use the sip electronic sensor in the drive and it’s fine now .

I think the problem with a drum set up without dampers is there's too much movement between the wheel and the forks so keeping the magnet in line with the sensor is difficult at the best. A friend of mine mounted his magnet on his back hub and mounted the sensor on the engine case. I use the electronic drive which works fine.
