Random L.P.'s found on the street...

Postby Andy B.L.C. » Tue Feb 09, 2021 11:37 pm

Found just round the corner from where I live. Among the totally rammed 2 bags worth of charity shop rejects were these 2 beauty's 8-) Now while I pride myself on a large & eclectic music collection I haven't quite yet made up my mind about accordion music, perhaps I should have kept accordion vol1 (if it was there) as a toe dip exercise, the covers on the other hand are works of art...

Not one for name dropping but I've become good friends with Subway Sect guitarist Rob Symonns, by my very obsessesive following of his band The Fallen Leaves...

The Fallen Leaves, purveyors of punk rock for gentlemen...

Here's a one for you...

Before lockdown I took Mrs Gaz, for what I dubbed a nice trip the capital for our wedding anniversary .. Only to happen to be passing the legendary Hope & Anchor in Islington at around 1900hrs only to find the Leaves were having an LP launch party# ...you could not have scripted it... What was the chance of that....... Etc
They played a blinder, best anniversary I've had...
Something Mrs Gaz still can't understand was that we were on the guest list!!???
FYI Mrs Gaz had a great time, if somewhat unexpected.
# I was on the private invite list for the live recording of the LP earlier in the year..
Hopefully first gig back for me will be The Leaves

I was aware of Subway Sect but didn't take much notice until as a result of the Fallen Leaves looked back into Robs musical history.... Since then I've become a big fan, and seen them play twice and was introduced to Vic Goddard.

In addition to Rob in The Fallen Leaves is legendary drummer Buddy Ascott, getting to know him was like a dream come true, even got invited to his 60th birthday party at the 100 club, where he drummed with 10 bands he'd been in.

Going back to Akkordein Pops 2 by Wil Glahe..... Every track is killer, there's no fillers.

Pops 1 and the other 12 volumes are just as good.... And that's a solid gold promise....

I saw Subway Sect, probably 79 or 80, at Eric’s or Brady’s, Liverpool. I was blessed to see many legendary bands in that 300 capacity venue before it was closed, by the Police.

I was only joking about 13 volumes..... There is really only 3 and the others have lambrettas and dolly's on the cover.
I think the images are off an old calender.
They fetch good money
