Running slow

Postby St George » Mon Jan 11, 2016 6:07 pm

My new computer has been running very fast and fine with LCGB Forum. Of late everything is still fast except this forum. it is taking about 5 secs to change pages. All my other forums are fine and are generally very fast. Anyone else got this problem.

I posted this very same thing a while ago and it is still no better now. I have superfast fibre broadband, Eternet connection and it is really slow on here. You are lucky with 5 seconds, can be up to 20 secs for me. Scooterotica etc (same type of forum) all run fine and quick,

And I was going to post up the same query.
When I "submit" I end up pressing a couple of times and eventually my reply goes up twice and I end up deleting the second entry.
On the Scooterotica site with almost identical appearance I don't have a problem.

Try a different web browser......some work better (on certain sites) than others.

Mine is on a go slow again, quite bad. Is that why there are a few double postings. Are the MODs watching this thread ?

Yes we do and A moderator has replied on this thread above, I think people have issues in different areas could be broadband / internet speed / providers

Internet speed with "Superfast Broadband" ? Don't think so.
From Liverpool to Margate. All other sites fine.
I'm pretty sure that's what all the double postings are.
Put in perspective; I suppose there are far worse things happening in the world.

Admin have had a look a couple of times to date and everything appears fine.

For the record Admin is based in the SE and all ok up here in the NE or at least on my PC.

Direct me to the double posts and happy to remove, Ive only come across one so far.

I think most of us DELETE the second post ourselves.

I have the same problem, slow loading on here but fine on any other sites. After the last maintenance the site ran fast but seems to be getting slower again?

Admin are looking into it but it's a rather hit and miss problem as it would appear to not affect everyone. Mine has been running fine with no delays at loading threads or submitting posts so hard to assess where the issue (if there is one) may be for the Admins.

Everyone that's complained about the speed are regular users and would notice the difference more than someone who just visits the site every now and again.

I agree and as a moderator I am on here far more often than is healthy and at various times of day and night using iPhone, MacBook, iMac, Hudl and Toshiba laptop using Chrome, Firefox and Safari (told you it was an unhealthy amount) 8-) and currently still not experiencing any speed issues. As stated it seems fairly irregular and so will be harder to determine where the problem lies but it is being monitored.
