SX200 carb adjustment ?

I have new to me SX200 with GP top end, when I got the scoot the running was terrible 4 stroking, bad tick over, almost underivable. Spoke to previous owner who hadn't had scoot for too long, he told me he taken off a Jetex carb (as he was told you count buy jets for them??) and fitted a new Scootopia 22mm carb. I fiddled with jets etc with Scootopia with out much luck, so asked him if he still had the jetex, (now i don't mind Jetex have had several and always got them to work ok) Fitted it and instant improvement, but still not as i would like, Jetex has same jets as the scootopia 50 pilot 50 start i increased main from 118 to 122, atomiser 5899-2 and 200 slide
Scoot starts, air screw makes little difference to ticker over, up to about 1/4 throttle scoot 4 strokes, and you have to rev it to pull away but above that it goes like a train!
Im happy to keep the Jetex carb as its a great improvement over the Scotopia and i feel im almost there with the Jetex
Drove down to Teignmouth rally over the weekend about 100miles and it ran welland i could live with it but feel i should get it better, if anyone has any tips to improve the running i will be grateful

Sounds like your choke could be sticking partially on. If it's not that then try a 48 pilot jet.

Rich, thanks for that, im pretty sure choke is ok, but will check. I have a 45 pilot here so will try that and see what difference it makes before ordering a 48

Although you've found an improvement with a different carb, is your timing ok.
