Not a good idea to run TS1's and RB's without an air filter of some description.
Your flywheel is good at sucking up all the nearside road detritus. It then fires this grit around the cylinder where it then exits from the cowling aperture on the far side, right in front of the carburettor intake.
Big mistake and costly.

An air filter will help to prolong the life of the lining. Small particles will act as an abrasive and increase the wear of the lining. This could half the wear life of the barrel.

be smart and fit a filter....next to nowt in difference in performance..I dynoed 23hp with a filter and 22.5hp without

Seeing as I'm only in Bradi Stan I thought I would nip over to Chisel and purchase 1 of these and so far I have spotted no difference in power what so ever.

TS1 35mm TMX with an old NK (which rattled loose again) now nailed back on.

travelled across to Halifax on the motorway and clocked 75MPH up the hill from Brighouse to HX.

Cheers Shane.
