sx200 carb adjustment ?

Postby bert49uk » Sun May 06, 2018 11:03 am

My 68 SX200 came to me with a Scotopia 22mm carb Im not getting much luck getting it to run as it should, before i ditch it and buy the original size 20mm carb as im happy to run as standard .
Does anyone have an SX200 fitted with a 22mm carb that could let me know what jets or fitted please.
I have enough info on jets fitted to 22mm in a GP200 etc.which don't work, what i need is info on jets fitted to a 22 fitted to SX200. Thank you

I'd expect very little difference between the jetting.

I fitted the SH2/22 on my Lince with a Clubman. I did find I had to drop the main by a couple of sizes but when I had that carb on my GP the barrel had been tweaked and it was running an expansion exhaust. it's still within the 118 - 123 range you find in standard.

It was very hard to start and boggy with 123 MJ and 50 pilot I think I ended up at 118 MJ and 48 pilot.

What jets do you have in now?

What sort of not running right is it doing?

The Lince and the Jet are effectively Spanish built SX.

In any case there are reports of some batches of the Scootopia carb having casting issues in some of the internal galleries.

Maybe some one local with a known good carb could let you try theirs?

You've still not said what's not right. It may not even be the carb, if you can elaborate someone might have some other suggestions.

Have tried swapping carb, same symptoms carp fitted with 45 pilot 118 main 50 choke 58899-2 atomiser new 200 slide
scoot starts well, tick over bit lumpy revs well, driving is lumpy, stutters ( could be 4 stroking) up to above 1/3 throttle above that goes like a train, having had several Lambrettas I just feel its not right
