GT186, 30mm PHBH & Gori Pipe

Postby NorthernJordan » Wed Oct 23, 2019 3:54 pm

Hi All,

I'm trying to help out my uncle with his Gt186 engine as it is hard to start. Tried all the usual tricks such as turning petrol of and leaving it to run etc etc.

So wondering what jetting people are using on similar spec'd engines for comparison.

Thanks!

From what I can gather it's hot starting. But will confirm.

I've never really used reeds before. What would I be looking for, splits? Chips of the end of the petals?

I think the engine has only done baout 500 miles. So had discounted things like rings for the time being.

Is it running a filter as I set a new engine up with a breathe sweet which wouldn't start hot, changed to a Chiselspeed panel filter and it was fine so I think it was due to the spitback and subsequent flooding due to the collection of fuel in the rubber elbow.
