Need a 2.5mm head gasket.. Source?

Postby Bofs » Wed Oct 20, 2021 11:47 am

Need a 2.5mm head gasket for a SIL 200 66mm barrel.
Been hunting online to no avail. Checked the usual suspects.
Anyone know where I`d get one?

why not use a 1 + 1.5 to get your thickness, on my gori I have to use 2 head gaskets to get my clearances as it's being top n tailed

you could use 6 x .5 mm gaskets and take one off that should get you back to 2.5

Bots, if this is a one off, then why not make your own.

Get a bit of 2.5mm thick Ali and lay an existing gasket on top and overspray with an aerosol paint (ask Birdy for a can, he has loads). When it is dry, take the old gasket off and then remove any alloy from the 2.5mm plate that is painted.

I know you know this stuff, but I put it here just in case this is news to another member.

Could do but rather have one to minimise blow-out. Yours work fine? No problems?

Spotted those but the idea of a 2.5 step under the head had me worried, mine is 66mm bore. Might only be 2mm around the edge, probably nothing to worry about?
