Chiselspeed CST3

Anyone using the Chiselspeed CST3 touring pipe?

I was wondering how low down it makes usable power and what gearing it would pull.

depends on cc and on your port timings. Trying 4.45 gearing at the moment in a DSC Scotty lined TS1 with a 30mm PHBH and and feels good.

Thanks Grim.

Toying with putting one on my TS1 253. My timings are around 125 trans 185 exhaust. I'd like to get down to around 4.5 final drive.

Im using an NK road pipe which is very similar to the cts3 love it. I do wonder as both are made in the UK they are one and the same and made by the same company?

Different pipes from different manufacturers. Going back 2 or 3 years they were both made by NK but stiff different pipes. CST3 produces power lower down. The AF pipe is normally referred to as "mid-range", produces power higher than a CST3 but lower than a race pipe.

The NK road pipes are great. I do have one. Its been welded up a few times. I find they sit too low, I was forever grounding mine on the bends.

I put a CST3 on mugello 225 and 28mm dellorto and after re-dyno carb adjustment I could not believe the difference just changing from an Ancilloti could make, this is with the sidecar.

Had my Scooter on the Dyno at Chiselspeed on Friday - Avanti 230cc with Super tourer & 30mm Dellorto

Martin suggested I try the CST3, so we swapped the pipes on the Scooter and i took it out for a spin

Fantastic, loved it, massive improvement, so out came the credit card and I bought one on the spot

I have made the decision already to buy one for my TS1 to replace the Supertourer that is on there. Just before I do though, has anyone any feedback on how sturdy they are please?

Sturdy enough. But do sit a bit low so watch it on speed bumps

Replaced my Taffspeed mk4 with a CST3.
Loved the taffy pipe, forced to get a new pipe due to rusted through u-pipe.
I would say the cst comes in as early as the taffspeed and does everything the taffy did , possibly better.
Hangs a little low from the barrel but use common sense when navigating speed bumps and all cool.
Really pleased with it.

Thanks for the replies. I just wanted to sound out prospective issues before buying.

Is anyone running one with an AF Mammoth head? Just wondering if there are any clearance issues.

I've got a CST3 with a Mammoth Head, and have no fitting issues.
