Casa curly

Postby Watfordwhite » Sun Aug 05, 2018 7:31 am

Want to purchase a Curly exhaust for my S2 225 Rapido with reed. (don't want to cut the original boards). Chiselspeed don't have any and Andy Francis didn't answer my mail. Any other options?
Does anybody use the Casa one. Any views good or bad please?
What's the ground clearance like, is performance good? Is it a top, middle or bottom Rev pipe?

I was in chiselspeed yesterday and saw a casa curly. Did you just check on line or call them?

It was just sitting there, large as life.

I happen to have a jl3 curly. Brand new, unused butbit has NO brackets, silencer etc. These are all available from andy Francis. Pm me if you're interested.

The Casa Curly is an extremely revvy pipe.

I used a JL3 curly with my reed valved Rapido, and I thought it was a lovely match

Did have to trim the boards slightly (under the panels) to make room for the Swan Neck exhaust mount bolts

You have to cut quite a bit from under the left hand foot board to accommodate a jl3 on a series 2.

I've got a jl3 curly on my Spanish s2 took a little tinkering and off set cones to fit but it is on a mugello 186 which are a little tricky anyway

Why did it need offset cones to get the exhaust to fit?

Some people do this to pull the engine back a few mil to gain clearance between the front of the expansion chamber and the back of the stand. I had this problem on one of my builds but preferred to grind a bit off the back of the stand instead.

I used off set cones to lower the engine to stop the front part of the exhaust touching the stand when there's no weight on the seat and the bolts on the swans neck hitting the rear runner
