I'm going to build a suzuki 190. Can I bore a gp150 barrel out to 64mm or is the wall too thin?

Thanks

no it will be fine, but taking out from 57mm to 64mm is a ball ache though, due to the amount of cuts requires! also the port timings can be a bit crazy unless you use a long rod (115/116/120) use a 30/39mm compression height mugello piston save your self some chew!

I have been contemplating the same question. I’d almost made up my mind to go 175 with a Suzuki PE175 62mm piston and 115mm Conrod.

Scotty, why is the Mugello piston preferable? They are quite a bit more expensive than the mitaka.

Cheers scotty. I've got a 60 116 crank for it, so that's ok. And a 32mm crown height ts185 piston.

I've bought a sr175 barrel for it which only needs opening another 2mm, but the bottom of the exhaust port is 61.5mm from the top of the barrel; transfers are 59mm. So with a 60 crank, it will be something like 1.5mm below transfers and 1mm above the exhaust crown at bdc.

So I'm considering sending it back and using gp150 as a basis.

Nice wide transfers in the SR barrel, but they need a lot of tidying up.
