I like the look of the LTH cassette clutch

I was looking at one of these clutches last week. I was impressed with the quality.

I know they are expensive but, if I charged out all the man hours I have spent fettling clutches, perhaps a worthwhile investment.

Any thoughts, good or bad?

Have got one in the 210 and it's great, the only thing I didn't like was the thrust plate retaining clip so I bought a genuine Vespa one and now I'm happy

I have had one in the sidecar scooter for almost four years now without any problems at all and that is with standard Lambretta springs in. So I would recommend one to anyone.

15,000 miles (26 bhp and 22 ftlb torque) and still on same plates. Nice and light at the lever. Feels nicer than my AF cassette

LTH clutches are the preferred clutch with some of the BSSO race teams in some very high powered group 4 and 6 machines.

Thanks for all the replies. My 5 plate Surflex with strong springs is behaving itself at the moment, give or take a little bit of drag, but i’ll Add this to my shopping list for the end of the season.

Great clutch and plates are cheap to purchase if you know what there from I have burnt one out but that’s on the race bike. It gets alot of abuse. Or did

Swapped the space for a Scotch Egg and a packet of cheese & onion Toddy,

Fitted an LTH many moons ago, and had to make myself change the plates out of years of Lambretta induced paranoia - even though they were fine. Every engine since has been treated to an LTH clutch, expensive but as hassle free as any other Lambretta part I can recall.

I've broken 2 centre cover plates when compressing the clutch, Vespa ones are cheap and worth keeping a spare. I put a 10p piece on top now before I use a clutch compressor. Apart from that it's been bullet proof and after a few thousand miles it all still looks like new, no discernible wear on the plates. One of the few parts in the Lambretta world that gets 99% thumbs up.

It looks like it should or could be 10 spring is this right? Came with 5 do you just use intermediary holes for the 5 springs

I finally got around to buying one. Initial impression is that it is very well made and steels and plates slide in and out very easily. The steels are 1.2mm and plates 3mm, and so, it’s pretty good in my eyes to get 7 in with a top plate which is also 3mm.

I am a bit curious as to why there is such a large gap in the circlip but then, I suppose, I am just used to the original Lambretta circlip.
