Rapido 225 Race exhaust and gearing recommendation

Postby Bidsy » Sun Jun 16, 2019 1:40 pm

Hi, Just starting to build my Rapido Race 225 and looking for exhaust and gearing recommendations.
I have a couple of exhaust options open to me, I have either a JL3 road or a NK road Rally and either LI150, SX200 or Indian GP200 gearboxes, 46 crown various size front sprockets and will be running a 30 mm VHSH Dellorto.
Can anybody please suggest the best combination and suggest final gear ratio.
Preferable more torquey low down than Revy.
Thanks

The fact you have a race rapido with higher exhaust port timings will dictate as much as the pipe the characteristic of the motor, in saying that they both JL3/NK Rally works well on TS1's with similar exhaust timing, I'd be inclined to use the NK with the Indian box at around 4.8 (19x46) or possibly 4.7 (20x47)

Good Luck!

i run my race 225 with a 30mil dellorto, sx 200 gearing and a bgm . nice set up on the road , pulls cleanly, sits at 60 no problem, tops out around 70.

Thanks all for the info, so I looks like the GP200 (indian) with a 46/19 seems to be what most suggest but can any body tell me how the JL3 Road and the NK Road Race would differ and if the jetting would be around the same.
