Also 2 Stroke Stuffing, which is a Norwegian guy trying to build the worlds fastest moped from scratch, seriously addictive.

I have started following Allen Millyard on YouTube. I know I am late to the game on this channel, but the guy is very, very clever. Check out his six cylinder Z1 engine (they usually have just four cylinders), or his Velocette V twin.

See if you can spot the joins

I to have been following Allen Millyard, very clever bloke. I particularly like his ss 100 and 180 v twin engines, also his use of his barbecue for heating engine parts to get bearings and liners out, excellent.

I first came across Allen Millyard when I stumbled across a dyno test of a five cylinder Kawasaki H2 750 that he had built. The owner and dyno test were in the US so when I searched for Allen Millyard, I was surprised to discover he was British and living in the Home Counties.

It was later that I realised that at a local motorcycle show I had seen his Flying Millyard 5litre V twin. This is built out of a couple of cylinders from a huge radial aero engine. Why not?

I love his thoughtful approach to building his bikes. He seems to have everything sorted before he starts work. No alarms and no surprises. We could all benefit from having that much fore-thought.

When I first saw the flying Millyard I didn’t take much notice to be honest but the more i read about it the more interesting it has become.

It amazes me how he builds the crank on the Kawasaki 6 engine and gets everything just right then you see it running and its like the smoothest running thing I’ve ever seen!

I mean to have a scooter set up at Shiny Red when we are let out to play. I visited last year and that convinced me. The only slightly disconcerting thing was that the owner Gary (?) looks uncannily like David Lynch the film director. Thankfully they didn't go all Twin Peaks on me.
