TS1 gearing

Postby Sixpennyblue » Sat May 23, 2020 5:53 pm

I have recently brought a gp200 with a ts1 225, it is fine in the first 3 gears but will not pull 4th, i am running it with a jl3 and 30mm carb. Checked the gearing and it has an LI150 gearbox with 18 - 47 sprockets. Should I change to 16 or 17 front or I do have a spare 46 rear sprocket Any advise would be welcome. Thanks

that gearing and sprocket combination gives a top gear ratio of 4.44 ,Af recomend anywhere between 4.7 to 5.3 depending on exhaust .
google Gearbox visuliser By Avatone , you can imput different sprocket combo`s on any chosen gearbox.
Incidently AF recomend 4.7 with a JL3 exhaust , which you could achieve with a 17 tooth front sprocket.

Mine is set up with 47x17 (4.7) with 110/60 crank and JL3 pipe. Good set up for me... decent pull through the gears and sits nicely in 4th on the road. Not that happy on some sharp hills though! 28mm delly as well...
