New one on me

Real odd ball one
After the French euro I had to swap cards due to the slid key coming loose. Changed all the from old carb into different body.
It did the Spanish euro fine till the 5speed died.
Done lots of bit's and bobs since.
Today I'm going through the bike and thought I'd play with the aircrew setting as it drowns with a filter.
The aircrew is up against the engine mount so not easy to get at
Giving it some thought I'm pretty sure there's never been an aircrew in there.
Pick up has always been clean and only thing I've noticed is a slight rise in egt temps on the gamma at wot.
Question is what changes should I expect when I replace the missing part.

Yep, I never knew it was a thing until it came loose,
With no engineering background I figured as a groove is a keyway the bit that fits into in must be a key.
I'm sure there's a technical term for it but it works for me.
