Postby Leotech » Sat Nov 13, 2021 12:44 pm

Has anyone used one of the MB Honda 205 remade pistons?

Had any issues? reliability or otherwise?

Any feedback appreciated.

Personally I’d prefer a forged piston in their, but alas don’t think one is available.

Following this thread with interest though.

I enquired about having a standard barrel done using the MB 205 piston, but the advice from the man himself was that it was more cost effective and much quicker to buy an RT225. Might be different if you can do the barrel and head yourself or at mates rates.

Through personal experience, I found the Suzuki piston to be a more durable item of the cast variety than the Honda, but I also have no great issue with using good caps to reduce the wrist pin hole size. For the record, forged pistons are alright. Both types offer their particular advantages.

However, if the cylinder is - or needs to be - 67 mm bore, this is the choice I would make. I have used them & rate them highly. They have good rings & are strong enough to withstand racing abuse:

It looks as though that may be the last available. I'm tempted to buy it myself, but offer you first dibs... :D
