As soon as i have time i intend to see how close the SSC taffy pipe u bend is to the original.

Hi Gaz ,
I have an SSC copy lying around somewhere , and from memory they are significantly different . I know that the fitting into the stub is quite a bit smaller diameter for a start .

The taff u pipe fits over the expansion body where the Saigon copy slips inside the expansion body. Plus as you said the Saigon version is probably close to 42mm ( the version I’ve seen is ) where the taff is probably closer to 48mm.

Early SSC were 42mm but they went to 48mm. Thwy have had a few changes.
Yes knew the joints were different just wondered if the bend was in the ball park.
Ive also got a 48mm u bend (unknown) that is just the tube with no ends, think it could be just a 48mm AF clubman, will see if thats anywhere near..... When i have some time!
