Hi, Which is the best small block 200 kit for a li 125 engine for fast touring to rallies and ride outs,

I think no one has replied because all the otions you have listed have their own fan base and would do what you need. There are other parameters that you also need to specify ie standard type carbs or bigger, what sort of exhaust you prefer, reed block or not etc etc. For my money the Mugello is good and can be run with a standard ish carb, silencer set up and then upgraded later. The further you go away from standard the more fun you'll have with more frequent fuel stops if it's a rally going scoot but if you don't mind this and want speed then the world's your lobster. Whatever choice you make set it up properly (carb, timing) and only use quality components in the rest of your engine because an unreliable scoot ain't no fun however fast it is.

never had a gt kit but have used 3 mugello kits 186cc nice spread of power, 198 kit not much to gain from the extra cc and a 186 with a 116 conrod ........brilliant kit with 4.81 final drive gives imolas and ts1 a run for there moneys......19bhp and 14 lbs torque!!

Yeah, muggys great other than the differntly positioned exhaust port meaning that fitting an exhaust is an absolute lottery :-/

Well, I've seen some claim it to be a deliberate design feature :-/ My next top end wont be a mugello for sure, which is a shame as I do love it

never heard a bad thing about the GT 186 , i have one in the garage and its a well made kit. plus you also have the advantage of a reed valve and depending what manifold you choose can have the carb on either side.

I went to an RB20 for speed :D It goes as fast as TS1 225 but you get the feeling your flogging the plums off it. But your not just very revvy, As I get older I am looking for a more sedate ride like those mentioned prior to mine. 2 pence from me :D

Very impressed with the rt195 so far...I need taller gearing but with a 30mm and clubman it really does breathe sweetly

gt186 is the best overall small block kit due to its verticality, they are now easier to get hold of than they used to be, being from the Birmingham area I know loads of people that run them and with a little tweaking they can produce very good power. We often have at least 1 ridding with us and they don't have too much trouble keeping up :)

one example of many ive got footage of, the red and white S2 was running a GT186

@Dimitrios it's currently on standard li125 gearing but intend to fit a 16t sprocket

Thanks,now it makes sense.
With a similar setup,I'm going to use Li150 S3 with 16X47.
Should I better stay with 15X46 :?

I love these threads and commented on them and asked the question myself.
If the kit is built up well they all have their merits. I had a Muggy and loved it until I holed the piston (not the kits fault) currently running RT195 and looks promising.
I've also ridden a GT186 and was very impressed and I will be using GT stuff as a base on my S2 resto.
There you go , absolutely no use at all :lol:

very true Mike, at the end of the day it don't really mater what top end is on your Lambretta as long as its taking you merrily on your way :)
