had a slight problem , had a coolant leak somewhere in the radiator area, it then got rather hot so i had to limp home stopping every mile or so to top up coolant. stripped radiator out to find a clip was not tight enough, but after re-fitting could i get coolant through to the pump, no not even with a full radiator, so in the end i added a t piece to the bottom hose and a valve, then i filled the pump from that t using some pipe and a funnel, job done closed off the valve and all is good, i also fitted a scootronic cdi and coil, wired up to run from dc, done another 20 miles tonight thats about 300 now and ive got it booked in at chiselspeed for a dyno session in a couple of weeks time to get the fueling right and see what sort of power it kicks out.

Well done holty you've put a lot of blood, sweat and no doubt tears into this project so I'm glad you're finally getting the results you deserve.

Great result, well done .
Torque where you need it not high up in the rev range.
Interesting that the 265 is supposed to have 44+ bhp out of the box isnt it?

thanks guys, i am very pleased, your right about the 265, martin had altered a few things to make it less peaky and more rideable, they make most power between 8 and 10k revs, not ideal for genral riding, good on an open road

all ready to head off to cleethorpes,
when we got there i just had to have a go on the dyno, just to see what power it was making now with some more miles on it, and some stronger clutch springs, im sure it had a bit of slip when it was at martins last time, well pleased with the result, made 35 bhp :D

went to see martin at chiselspeed on Friday , he got it on the dyno and did a few power runs and altered the jetting to get the mixture correct thoughout the rev range, end result was 40 bhp I am very pleased with the result, had a road test yesterday and it goes like a rocket.

Impressive stuff and I’m sure the power valve made a world of difference :D
Although I wouldn’t like too feed it unless it’s just a back lane hoonie scratcher ;)

Very nice Steve.
I suspect its very tractable even with a 4 speed box?

yes its very easy to ride even at slow speeds, I can ride in a group of other riders no problem, the 4 speed tv200 box works fine the jump between 3rd and 4th is big, but it copes fine, I suspect it would pull an 18 front sprocket but it would lose some of the fun factor, plus its not all about top speed, more how quick you get there.
