Had a message today for a recall on my GT240 cylinder, Rich has identified some of the bores are two tight and are at risk of seizing. Brilliant now got to strip down and send cylinder back for honing, not amused.

Look on the bright side, you’ll not only get the bore done you should also get a new piston and have piece of mind everything is right and in tolerance.

I think I would prefer to be informed off a recall and it getting sorted out than denying there is an issue and blaming the quality of the build like some have in recent times

Hi
Rich has just collected mine - will be back in a couple of days..
Only 240cc are affected and I gather the affected batch owners have been / are being contacted.
It's a hone to remove 1 thou which is .02mm.

Your right on the bore least I will know it’s correct, no new piston just honing of cylinder.

I would have though so as the bore will have some roughness from the hone

Had it set up on a Dyno then finished running it in on the way down. With a bgm pipe fitted it pulls from 30 mph through to 65mph in 4th with no power band up hill down dale loaded with gear for / weeks camping. If you want to run a filter then go for the left and hand inlet manifold option

Coaster what carb you using on that setup please.

Interesting thread, just built a GT240 only run it up and down the road at the moment, so no real conclusions, running a JL3 exhaust (as it was handy)30mm Delly on the kickstart side, but using a 145 MJ on Edens advice, but will do a few hundred miles to loosen up and then get it set up on a dyno, is the manifold the same for right and left carb fixing ? I do prefer right side as there is more room for the carb, unfortunately doesn`t seem too much room for a filter
