Just read the scootering article. Sounds a great kit. Are you going with a LTH clutch etc or upgrading standard as the article suggets you could? I’ve got an LTH in my Big cc engine and it’s faultless after 11,000 Miles. Look forward to hearing how it goes.

Just going with the AF cassette to keep costs down a bit. This is part of a total 'rust'ore which is collectively is costing me an arm and a leg. I've asked for a bit of transfer work; as far as sensible without welding.

Yes they turned that round quick, ordered from them last week seem like a great firm to deal with.

That’s some turnaround. That’s the same power and torque as my 283! If they can set that up to be able to sit at sustained high speed runs without overheating then it’s going to be a great engine. Note that Casa are building a clubman Type exhaust prototype for their 265 touring motor. That would be a good addition here with a modified header. The world is great for Lambrettas at the moment.

So I rode the MQ210 Chiselspeed demo out today. Only a quick spin. God, what can I say. This is bar far the best engine I have ever ridden. I'm no speed freak but had the front wheel off the ground in 2nd. Pulls so well. A very tame ride if you want to, pulls well in each gear from down low to WTF. Clutch was so light. It was an absolute joy to ride. I'm sold.

Is the demo bike an out of the box kit plus regular pipe etc or has the barrel etc been tickled?

I seem to recall about 25bhp but 34 with some work done. Or thereabouts anyway.

I would be interested in seeing some mpg or ltr per mile figures when they become available. If this kit is as flexible as it seems and proves to be reliable then, in my eyes, it would be good for it not to be a gas-guzzler. If it turns out to be able to balance a quick fun ride (but not too extreme for the average rider) with the ability to rally / tour at a reasonable cost then they'll be kept busy at the MQ HQ surely?

The demo bike is a bolt on. No tuning to the barrel.24bhp and 20 torques
just picked my engine up from CST on Saturday , dynod at 27 and 21torques, after mild tuning, ( no welding)

...all numbers on a page at the moment. The proof will be in the riding...

I wish.. I'm hoping to have the frame ready to install the motor this weekend. Although a lot needs to happen between now and then, the pressure of the forum is adding to the motivation :D

If the out of the box with LI150 gearbox is anything to go by, yours will be a huge grin factor.

So far the very trick looking motor has sat resplendently in the kitchen. I've a very understanding missis. Yesterday I set about fitting the cowling. At least that was the plan. I think I've found the first minor challenge. I've 'invested' in some bling PM tuning carbon jobbies (in for a penny and all that). I've spent hours fettling to get them to fit.

The issue is the manifold shape because it's shorter, With the carb in place it fouls the top of the cowl. I've just about got a fag paper's gap between them now. Hopefully it won't vibrate against it when running. We'll see. I remain optimistic.

The rest of the bike is almost ready to assemble. Just waiting for wheels and for my good friend to finish welding damper brackets to the forks. Looking forward to the weekend.
