Good Luck with that.

I'd be interested to hear it if it's still daylight, particularly as my son is down for just the Saturday..... ;)

I tried my best to steer him well away from Italian 'heaps of corruption' (especially race bikes) but it's in the blood you know.....

Well I got it in, after a huge amount of shenanigans. Nothing engine related I'll add. I'd made a bracket for the Mtech and Malossi coil that ChiselSpeed supplied. Lets just say it needed a few reworks. I also got side tracked trying to bleed my new Casa disk. Turned out to be a faulty master cylinder (which Chisel speed advanced replaced: great bunch of lads)

Engine itself went in no bother. Frame clearance on the manifold is fine, almost 10mil. The smile I had when it fired up...(in fact I did a loop of the drive like I'd scored the world cup winner). It sounds sweeeet. :D

Got to sort the electrics now. Fingers crossed that'l go smoothly (we all know it wont).
Then its leggies and horncast. So I'm guessing you'll have to wait a couple more weeks for the road review I'm afraid. (That's unless someone else gets the jump on me and gets their on the road sooner).

If this kit is as flexible as it seems and proves to be reliable then, in my eyes, it would be good for it not to be a gas-guzzler. If it turns out to be able to balance a quick fun ride (but not too extreme for the average rider) with the ability to rally / tour at a reasonable cost then they'll be kept busy at the MQ HQ surely?

This is what I'm waiting for too.

Yeah any news on progress?

Have got hold of a small block casing in anticipation of these kits being everything they're cracked up to be 8-)

Having ridden the Chisel speed demo, I can say it matches the hype. I'm a good few months behind Ravey.
Come on Ravey, give us a report / update.

It's been a slow process getting through the last stages of this rusty rebuild. Every stage presenting challenges. I'm nearly there though. Just got leggies to fit, helicoil a thread on the horncasing, then fit that and the mudguard too, then I'm done. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

One minor setback, dvla returned my 1st reg application. Rookie error. Anyway I've resubmitted it. Hoping for a quick turnaround. If not I'll stick a number on to get a run out on it. I'm off out the country for 2 weeks end of next week, so big miles won't happen until I get back.

Btw, I plan to do coast to coast on it.

If this works, and you can get access to this Flickr album I’ve just created you’ll see a few pictures from about 10 days ago. I’ve tried to show the manifold to frame clearance.

Yep, can see that. Looks good so far. Just put a CST3 on my S1. Lovely exhaust and well
made. Easy fit. A bit loud though. I wonder if they are very different to the version you have or is it just the manifold ?

Legshields fitted. I'll do the helicoil in the horncase tomorrow and get that and the mudguard on. Fairly confident we'll be ready to rock tomorrow. I'd have it done tonight but the light has just gone in the garage

Looking good mate. Why cut the battery tray off the frame? Are you going big tank?

Want to keep mine as original as possible, so Martin said about using a curly expanshion so I don't need to cut the rear boards. Twin tank conversation going in mine. Thanks Kevspeed. I'm about 9 months behind you.

Great progress today. Hit a few snags but goal achieved. Horncase and mudguard on, leg shield toolbox fitted, Battery wired up too. Just got to connect the cables and we’re away. That’s if it wasn’t snow everywhere.

Took a quick video. Quality is crap but you get the idea.

Love the rustic look, mine is fully repainted but with hindsight I should have left it like that, by nature I’m quite a careless person and find it hard not to scratch it every time I’m doing something to it. I look after a couple of others in that condition and they are a joy to work on.
