Just seen elsewhere that there has been an issue with an AF box at Mallory Park yesterday and they are not selling any more until they have assessed. The failure was on a very high BHP engine. Update is on SLUK.

That is a shame but good to see AFR being open and honest. Fingers crossed it's sorted soon.

I'm just about to fit one of the Robbospeed ones £600 plus fitting. It's going in my 30+ BHP Targa. I'm using the same ratios up as Martin Robinson as I want a fast tourer I'll post results when I've been on the road for a bit

This is by far the best source of gearing info, particularly the ability to compare 2 gearboxes side by side. Be honest with the quoted BHP figures though.

Took the plunge on the Clo5e box and started fitting yesterday.
The instructions are comprehensive and have colour photos if they're available on line I would read them before ordering as it will help in deciding what other bits you night need.
I did a straight swap with all bearings and layshft reused.
Partly because I've heard horror stories of incomparable shaft and bearing combos.
I've got it in and clutch chain and sprocket fitted.
As AF said shim down a mm and it all went in first time no issues.
Hopefully no kick start ramp issues (Indian GP endplate)
So far impressed.

Should have sawn that ramp off while you had the end plate out, they are made of very soft cast iron and a hacksaw will deal with it in less than a minute. Drill and tap 3 6mm holes in the casing and jobs done 8-)

I know,
Kick start engages a little lower than I hoped for. Side stand will help and it only needs a prod to fire.
Just hoping for a straight swap over.
Euro getting nearer just don't need problems.
Switchable dc ignition running off battery alongside a.c is next job
Then some brakes would be nice.
Optimistically geared for 4.31 with 12% 5th. Fully revved out on 4.6 4 speed so hopeful.
Should give close to 90 mph which is the speed my mate reckons it does now according to his 2016 bike Speedo. But I know it's 83mph.

Done a few hundred miles on my new Robbospeed 5 speed gearbox. Easy to fit and I got what I wanted a very fast tourer now. May have to change the front sprocket for Spain because I'll be two up for some of the trip and the ratio is tall.
