The gearbox visualiser spreadsheet says 9% on the 35T version, 12% on the 34T version.

Update

first 100 ish miles on it and very pleased.
Kick start wasnt an issue its about where it was before, things look so different with the runners back on.
i went from li 50 17 46 and the new box has done everything I hope for. overtakes are quicker safer (although my riding pal might like to differ) and more frequent. at first its easy to double shift but youll soon get used to it.
cable adjustment is more critical but other than that its been a doddle.
Im running 19 46 so i'll have to see how i get on with a slightly higher first when fully Euro loaded.
an unexpected bonus is as the Avanti pulls so well off pipe, using the close ratios I can ride around town with virtually no revs and it rides like a standard scoot which will make it more sociable.

Scooterlam (D),

Static or advance/retard? Going A/R also gave me much more power off the pipe and made it a joy to tootle around on, without losing anything higher up.

I look forward to our path crossing somewhere on the France/Spanish jaunt :)

Static.
Although I'm in the process of fitting a stand alone dc ignition
From Mr Tambs. Which may or may not have 5 degrees of retard.

Just wanted to relay some information in response to some of the concerns relating to the AF Close 5 gear selector issues that have been mentioned in this thread, we have tested the replacement selector in our Group 6 (39BHP)race RB 260, last week at Langbaurgh circuit where 60-70 hard laps were done and also at Lydenn hill race meeting at the weekend with again over 50 laps in full race conditions, we managed a very credible 3rd place behind SRP's and JB tunings respective group 6 machines, the gearbox/selector was faultless. My own view is that the issues relating to the selector are more of a manufacturing fault than a design one, as owners of these gearboxes are aware AF are currently awaiting the arrival of replacement selectors.

As long as the production run is the same as the samples all is good.
Scotty you could probably answer the question.
We're the 2 that broke on the track the same batch as the production run or the test batch.
Sadly heard this before at the time I bought mine I had the same reassurances. Lost 4 days hols, had to sleep on bench outside an airport and still fighting my insurers to get my bike back.
Forgive me if I'm a little cynicle.
Put me down for one of the samples when my bike eventually gets back from Spain.

The ones that broke were from the production run, AF have hopefully addressed the issues relating to this, sadly we've seen this all to often with products, they're tested, approved and when manufactured often corners are cut to reduce costs, other reputable dealers and product manufacturers have experienced this, sadly its the consumer,us that are on the receiving end.
