TV 175 Series 3 cylinder

Postby Bren » Tue Sep 07, 2021 2:33 pm

Hi all,

After information on S3 TV157 cylinder identification. I purchased my TV 175 many years ago and it came with the original case (empty) and a load of bits, including a cylinder. Over the years its all gotten mixed up with other barrels lying around in the shed and garage. Question is how to identify a genuine 1963 TV175 cylinder? I am acutely aware that the one I originally received with the job lot may have been genuine.
Any information form the experts would be appreciated

A TV175 barrel is 80mm between 3rd and 4th fins.

I am unsure whether this is especially helpful as it may well be the case that a 175 conversion barrel is the same. But, it’s a start :)

At a glance, the size of the inlet port will be noticeably larger compared to an LI 125 or 150.

I'm pretty sure that only the TV175 cylinder no. 19711020 measured 80mm dia across the main casting and all 150's measured around 70mm.
