Having sorted the gear cables out and all gears selecting i thought i would have a ride round on some private land. All seemed well until i decided to 'open it up' and found it is misfiring in all gears. Now let me point out it has new fuel filter, new air filter, new plug and ht lead, tank has been cleaned and beand new fuel in, carb has also been stripped and cleaned. Does anyone know reason for misfire, like how to set up the carb or air/fuel mixture? It is a series 1 and is a total srandard 125 at present. Look forward to some replies in regard?

More likely to be CDI/Coil or timing

I experimented with the 6V ignition timing on mine and from 22 to 18 (+/- 1 degree) BTDC, and found below 20 degrees, misfiring occurred. Try and aim for 21 degrees BTDC if you can to see if normality returns.
Good luck

shouldn't he be aiming for 23 deg BTDC as the std GP's are 21 deg
