Here you go Nick,

The first article shows the GP200 with a black toolbox with the sticker on the petrol tank and the second article shows the GP200 with a grey toolbox and the sticker on the toolbox.

Interesting to note on the strip down article the thick head gasket; my original early dl (first month of production) had one fitted, I thought it was a left over from the SX parts bin being fitted.

Late Italian GP Rear Light Unit fitting: I recall on the old site that there were pictures and an explanation of the change made to late Italian GPs for the fitting of rear light units - A rubber grommet and special nut???
Did anyone keep this, or could someone post the pictures of the fittings and changes to the frame pressings?

Later GP had a larger hole in the frame to take the grommet (and nut). Scootopia have remade them: http://www.scootopia.co.uk/product/7317 ... mp-nut-set

Just stripped down my K plate electronic for a winter restoration and noticed when the spanish rear light was removed  Found the larger holes in frame...I knew those funny bolts with rubber washers would come in handy......Took them off a GP years and years ago thinking WTF  Glad i kept them
Hoarding GP parts is a good thing..!!

This may have been asked before on a previous thread....

Is there any evidence of UK spec GP200 Electronics in either White or Red..?
Having a coversation with howard Chambers last week he mentioned that to his knoledge all UK Electronics where Ochre.
As the K plate one i am restoring has been sand blasted many years ago giving me no signs of a previous colour.

My plan was going to be Red as i do not want to start a small family of Ochre GPs

^^^ I previously owned a UK registered from new white GP200E that a member on here now owns, so they definitely weren't all ochre. I'm also pretty sure that in the past I've seen a couple of original paint UK from new red ones as well. If you're electronic is still on its original reg, have you applied to DVLA for its ownership history. I've done that on a couple I've owned, including an SX150 that I bought recently and a copy of the original VE60 (1969 log book) came back amongst the paperwork. This shows the original colour, engine and frame numbers, supplying dealer and the first owners. If you need further info on how to apply PM me.

Definitely came across in Red and White. A couple of friends have original British reg scooters that are red. Mine is original brit reg and it was white. Also an article in Scooter World shows black and white photos of electronic GPs in different colours - just can't tell what colours :-)

Hi all, merry Xmas etc. Santa dropped this off just before Christmas. Originally from somewhere near Milan I believe. I've never owned a GP before and very pleased with this. It looks really straight and original, quick squirt of easy start and I rode it up and down the drive. I'm going to need some help though.
My plan is to keep the engine as original on points etc, and try and restore as close as possible to original. It has been repainted (externally) and it's not good. I need to know what a factory model should look like, what parts were chrome or nickel plated etc. Should wheel rims be white or grey, petrol and choke taps are painted alloy, is this right? Lots of questions to ask, is there a good reference source somewhere?

the speed when riding is shown in kph but the distance traveled is recorded in miles not kilometers.

Hi just seen this post^. As far as I know this shouldn't be the case. Has the speedo had the faceplate changed and can you tell if it is original to the scooter. The speedo in kmh should record mileage in km's. Can't say I have ever used kph speedo's but guessing mainly. My post might help get further responses
