Hi
Can anyone out there help me save my original series 2 side panel crash bar been on my scoot since early 60s I bought scoot in 1960.I had it braized on the bend as I split it when scooter dropped on large kerb however when I sent it to be rechromed he told me it was to rusty and holes appeared.Surely someone out there can help me save it I live in Oxfordshire. The bottom pic shows it on scoot before I dropped it
P.S The otherside is ok

It looks ace! Can I ask who, how etc. did the work please? Also if not too cheeky, how much? I've got some original bars in similar condition that I'd like restoring.

Sorry mickey been away.It was a combination off efforts firstly I cut out the rusted bends and then I reformed a new bend in copper as it is the same diameter the most difficult part, then a friend braised it back together actually it was Sandie Shaw's husband. She was a huge 60's mod popstar google her if you dont know who she was, don't know how old you are. I do her garden as I'm retired. Then I sent it to be coppered then chromed to a place in Wallingford Oxfordshire and he charged me £85. Hope that helps Ray

No need to reference Sandie Shaw on this site ;-)

Thanks very much Ray.
Doing Sandie Shaw's garden sounds like a really nice job & like Storkfoot says, I reckon most people on here will be aware of her.
Also as I said the fixing & rechroming looks really good, the price also seams really reasonable, I'll google the firm you mentioned,
Thanks again
Mike
