PM Tuning Apr 1984 - Barrel and Head

Postby Roey99 » Thu Aug 15, 2019 3:30 pm

Hi.
I've discovered an interesting barrel and head at the bottom of a box of bits that came with an old scooter.

It looks to me like a standard iron barrel that has been tuned, the engraving says " PM Tuned - Apr 84 - SP"
The exhaust port looks about 42mm and a standard big bore gasket seems to fit well.
The inlet port has stud centres about 64mm
The barrel is aprox 66mm bore.

It will need a clean and at least a hone, there aren't any ridges or lips to remove it just looks a bit rusty.

Which inlet manifold would work best if I wanted to use a non reed valve set up - or is it tuned for a reed valve ?

The head seems to be matched and has a rather interesting message etched into the under side - heaven only knows why this was added !

Worth keeping and fitting ? or put it back in the box ?

Thanks for your help - jr

I'd go out of my way to sell it to someone from Scotland. :D
