Remind me please, carburation just over tickover , regulated by atomiser or slide? I have a slight hesitation but the rest of the Rev range is crisp and clean.

Pilot jet then throttle slide. Throttle slide controls the mix up to about 1/4 throttle.
Check that you have the correct slide and pilot jet.
Check that the slide and carb housing are not worn.
Try a borrowed carb and see what difference that makes.
