carb size too big ?

A friend has a nos Rapido250 engine, he`s thinking of fitting a LTH Reed valve and has asked me what size carb to go for? Any ideas guys ?

Don't be frightened of going small. I run my 283cc on 30mm VHSH and it runs just fine. 30bhp and 28ftlbs

Your choice of size might be dictated by the size of the rubber on any reed valve that you attach. Even then, the location of the rib in the mouth of the rubber might limit your choice of carb.

He`s currently got a Dellorto 34MM flatside on and is hoping to reduce fuel consumption, hence the reed valve and the size of carb to use query. Thanks for the advice, ill pass it on 8-) 8-) 8-)
