Postby Nobby » Fri May 01, 2020 11:09 am

‘They are still out there’

Well we all dream of them?, local reg lambretta been dry stored for decades, one owner from new, orig condition, orig keys, bill of sale , old mots etc but it very rarely happens these days!... well Iv been lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time got told of this li, it has been sat in a garage since 1985 when the first owner parked it up after using it for work every day for 22 years! (42000 miles on the clock), it hasn’t moved since till now , it was actually at the top of my road (ish) by a park where me and my son kick a ball about!!, it was originally sold literally around the corner and up the road from where I live now at stocker and sheppard ltd and has never left reading.... yeah it’s not an sx200 find but it’s innocentis best seller and the back bone you the whole lambretta range .....

Is that the Series 2 light grey colour?

I had an early s3 once and they have one or two quirks, left over from S2. One of which is that some were grey but usually with a contrasting coloured horn cast and side panels.

It’s very nice. What did you do with the engine out of interest?

Thanks!

Just found another pic of when it first came out of the garage after 35 years!!

The only things Iv done so far really are blast , prime and rattle can the original innocenti rims (they had no orig paint on them and had also been repainted silver) , matching this weird og beige colour was a bit of a pain but it’s pretty close to the bodywork altho looks different to the darker hubs but what can you do!
New tyres and tubes..

Like I said the engines in bits at the mo, I’m putting a gp crank, new bearings/seals (obvs), rt 195, rs clubman, 26bhbl with bgm filter and modified airbox...

Still need to do the cable inners and steering bearings and flush/treat the petrol tank...

No it’s a weird beige/slightly grey colour quite unusual?!

Ps I had to change the single seats to an original giuliari bench seat/cover as I’m 6’ 2” and those can’t physically ride a lambretta with single seats! :D :D

Little bit more history on the shop it was originally sold in - less than a mile from my house
