Fresh barn/shed find 2! NOT a new project!

Postby Nobby » Sun May 03, 2020 1:02 pm

also with the s3 li there was this s2 li150 local reg (infact from the same dealer) behind a shed ...when I first saw this I thought it was savable and a good project, but when I dragged it out from under a foot deep of pine needles it became clear it was waaay to far gone

It broke in half when I tried to move it!
When I got it back to the workshop It was much much worse than I thought... in fact there was nothing on the body savable!!!- the frame and loop just crumbled in my hands, the forks were rotted thru , the toolbox and tank where rotted completely thru, even small stuff like petrol tap and brake pedal were pitted badly and the headset bottom was corroded thru, tell a lie I managed to save the horncast with dealer badge , badge bar and the rear grill!!

Weirdly the engine casing/chaincase , mag housing ,hub and all internals (gearbox, layshaft etc) were not only ok but when cleaned up looked very good/low mileage!, all the parts iv sold for money towards the s3 recommissioning , rear of the frame I’m making into an engine test jig ...

Real real shame, I was probably about 10 years to late to save this one :(
