Scootopia variable ignition

Postby Hammer RB230 » Tue Sep 21, 2021 12:16 pm

Hi All i have recently fitted the above to my LI RT195 after my indian stator gave up. I have fitted and timed (25 deg BTDC) as per the fitting instructions. Starting is great, however mid range to full throttle is missing badly, TDC was found by the piston stop method and the 25 BTDC using a timing disk.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If it's 'missing' as you say, then the strobe should have indicated that.

You have run it with a strobe to check retardation, I presume?

Most strobes rely upon induction from the HT lead to flash, so it's fairly obvious if there is anything amiss. Hopefully it may just be the sparkplug, which I bet is an NGK :)

Personally, I've never known a fussier brand....
