I was told by a previous owner that there was a lot of documentation about its history when he sold it
To the person I bought it off
Turns out he was a copper and he wouldn't pass it on

My very first Lambretta was a turquoise GP150. I bought in September 1970 when it was just a year old and it cost me £140.00. It was a battery and rectifier version and proves that turquoise GP150's were available in the UK as early as September 1969 which is when it was first registered. The registration number was TKH 39H and the lad I bought it from had it from new. It was supplied by Jordans Lambretta dealership in Hull. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of it in its turquoise paint and the following Easter I stripped the scooter down and had it sprayed in a deep metallic red colour with silver pinstripes added to the legshields and side panels.

I seen the post on here about frames being swopped and might have been stamped..in the 70/80s at the scooter shops
i spoke to one of the blokes who years ago worked at the local scooter shop and he said they never stamped them, just swopped frames which he remembers had no markings at all on the frames. so is that why now you some times get a frame with nomarkings or id at all.. i have had a few over the years...

it is a 1970 gp 200 from wests of Lincoln 3 owners from new. it has 25000 on the clock and is still working so I believe it to be true.[
the side panels have been resprayed but nothing else.head light is plastic also looks like a zena diode was put on and a ally bracket on the rear mudguard..
first time I saw her, this was bought in 1985 and never used.

Very nice original bike ! I like it
When you said it's a1970 GP do you mean it was first registred in 70 or it left the production line in 70 ? It looks like a (nice original) 1969 gp for me.

The frame number will tell you what year it was manufactured and the registration number will tell you when it was first registered.
I've got a K reg GP 150 which was manufactured early 1970.It has a metal petrol flap, rear grill and horn grill also grey plastic toolbox.
It probably sat in a showroom until sold late in 1971.
Yours has the metal painted rear grill and grey toolbox and I would suspect the metal petrol flap which would make it the 69 early 70
model.
If in doubt check the frame number against those on the British Lambretta Archive

I can see it's got a 12 volt battery so an early 12v conversion. Possibly with POSITIVE earth.

I started cleaning today an old used LIMS Felsina rear shocker which is in great working condition but was very dirty.
Did Innocenti use these shockers to the latest only GP200 models?
I want to use it on an earlier S3 65 model.

Thanks for your reply.

Some weeks ago I bought a 200 frame (2570**) which should be according to the records from June 70, but not 100% sure.

I know a few bikes one or two months later than mine with alloy rear grill painted bike color. But it seems that petrol flap mounting points on loop should be similar to early frame and can't accept plastic petrol flap. So I'm wondering if black plastic toolbox rather than grey and plastic horn grill rather than alloy...

Cheers,
Vince

Hi Mark,

Interesting remarks.
But when you said early 70, what month is your 150 ?

Has anyone got a port map or port timings for a std italian gp200 barrel , they could share please?
I have a gp200, the barrel is 66mm with untouched ports , it has the two cutouts on the top fin, so its either gp or sx /jet afaik, it also had a 10mm ish cast circle with a dimple in the middle of it by the inlet, i just want conformation that it is. Gp barrel as the engine has been rebuilt at some stage with some sx parts ?
ThanksRuss

From the frame number, June 1970 seems to be right for when it was manufactured. Are you saying that it has a hinge that will only accept a plastic petrol flap? If so, I would imagine that would be one of the first to be like that as June seems early for that configuration (although nobody seems to know exactly which month the "new" hinge was introduced). Does it have the larger holes in the rear of the frame, to take the rubber grommets, where the back light bolts pass through?

Hi Trev,

Thanks for your reply.

My frame loop only accepts metal flap as the early dl/gp
It's why i 'm thinking that the horn grill would be alloy and toolbox grey plastic instead of black plastic.
But need to confirm in comparing with some May or other June 70 dl/gp.
And no' no larges holes in the back of the frame.

Cheers,
Vince

Hi Vince - yes, a metal flap is what I would expect for a June 1970 and it would have also come with painted alloy grills (horn and back of frame) and a grey toolbox, rather than all of those being in black plastic. Cheers. Trev.
