I thought it might be useful to post a few identification images to check originality and help with sourcing correct original parts for restoration purposes.

There seems to be lots of posts and some confusion about the correct light/horn switches for the various Li Special models .
This is the switch that came fitted to my Italian import 1964 Special 150 which I have assumed is the original pattern unless someone knows otherwise ?

I assume there are diffences between the switches for early 64/65 Specials and the later 66 on silver specials ? and also for the 150 Golden specials ?
It would be really helpful if owners could post a picture of their switches together with the year, 125 or 150 and whether italian Indian Spanish etc

wow thats a lot different to mine wack thanks for posting:shock:

I saw a switch like yours on the bay this week advertised as a 150 special and thought it must be a Spanish or Indian version.
I'm beginning to wonder if my switch is correct for 64 ? :?

thanks Hoody ....your shot confirms my switch is also the original pattern for a 64 special.
They are so incredibly rare and sought -after that I'm thinking of fitting a modern copy in case someone nicks it of my scoot.

Continuing on the topic of white painted mounts being fitted as standard, I've recently been shown a fantastic example of an original early LI150S and that does have white mounts. If anyone can be bothered to post via web host, let me know and I'll forward you the photos... or even if you just want to have a look, send me your email address by PM and I'll email the photos.

Interestingly, the FB discussion was followed by comments that a pal's early TV175 had the same painted white mounts.

The example shown certainly makes me change my mind, having been very sceptical, and is another example of needing to keep an open mind when looking at Innocenti's ever changing specifications.

I have worked on a Silver Special,it had white mounts,I thought that they were aftermarket, very intersting.
I don't know if I have any pictures saved on my PC.
Another original Silver Special close to my place.

yes engine mounts on the early LiS150 special (pacemaker) were neuvo white to match the tanks and frame ... its been a well established fact for some time . ;) I have pictures of several including my own.

However I wasn't aware that the TV175 was also fitted with the same white coloured mounts though.

A couple of other odd things about my 64 Italian imported special that I noticed was that it has a 175cc stamped inlet manifold fitted...far as I can tell it is the original equipment . :?
Also there was no rubber gasket /trim fitted under the air scoop on mine either and that is definitely how it left the factory as the fresh paint underneath clearly shows.

The 175 manifold 19711004 (middle in the pic) is standard for Li150S and TV173 S3 according to the official spares catalogue.

When you remove the inlet manifold you can see it is bigger where it meets the cylinder which is also ported larger than an LI 150 , as they're listed as making more power than the standard LI.

thanks Dimitrios thats very informaive cheers.

Wack .....is that all Innocenti did to get an extra HP over a standard Li150
I assumed that the cylinder would have been ported or worked on too.

TBH I've never compared the 2 cylinders side by side but when I rebuilt my Special I only had NOS 125/150 inlet gaskets and had to cut them out as the Special has a more rounded inlet.
