"Clubman" exhaust

Postby MickYork » Sat Jan 14, 2017 11:56 am

Was their an original specific Clubman exhaust, manufactured by one dealer/manufacturer, or is just a generic term for a modified, larger bore, box type exhaust ?

I recall one dealer in the seventies (may have been Rafferty Newman ?) selling the manifold, U bend and instructions of how to weld it all together with modifications to the box, not sure if he called it a Clubman though ?

It was a generic term for that style of exhaust, larger bore with cone. AF and ancillotti were the popular ones in the late 6o's and 70's but there others.

The lads at Royspeed in the 70's explained to this then 16 yr old, it was away of fitting a tuned exhaust that looked standard on the outside to the Feds. Bright orange they sold me ? went like stink.
