Two jets in one hole

Postby Knowledge » Sun Oct 21, 2018 10:15 pm

On my VHSH carb, the idle circuit has two jets in the one hole.

One sits in the bottom of the hole, and the other is the traditional location. The carb was supplied with a B45 at the bottom of the hole and a 60 idle jet.

Why two jets and why different sizes?

Taken from Mb’s tech site
Flat slide Dellorto's have another jet under the idle jet called an air jet! I find it best to leave it in as standard, some dealers remove it! There is very little information to what or how to adjust this air jet. Removing the air jet effects jetting!

Thanks.

I can tell that was written by MB, as there are an excessive number of exclamation marks. ;)

Does anyone have any other information?

Its called an Emulsion tube i think it allows a smaller pilot to be used above it , some take them out and fit a normal size pilot im sure someone a bit cleverer will be along to explain better ;)
