It has a 30 PHBH with filter, BGM v3 pipe and an LTH reed.

I love it. Pulls high gearing and cruises 65 easily. 10 miles per litre of fuel.

LI150 gearbox 18-46 4.34 final drive. Varitronic ignition.

I love it

Tuned I guess though?

No. Just assembled and the base packed to achieve the 1.2 squish.

Goes together nicely, though I did have a minor issue with the base gasket face touching the mag flange which was soon sorted with a file. I just got the engine back in the frame on Sunday so still to cable it and connect it.

I have no garage so weather is a factor in my spannering and it's not pleasant just now so might be another few days till I can get it running.

I'll keep you posted

Anyone changed an RT225 to reed and what difference did it make?

ULC soulagent-
What mods did you make to do the conversion?
I was thinking about using an aftermarket Reed and getting the kit supplied with a reed piston.
Your help would be appreciated

When I got mine Mark swapped the the supplied piston for the reed version for the difference in cost between the two (just a few quid) the supplied reeds are apparently for a Derby senda and are from Boyesen.

You can get mallossi Derby reeds in a pack containing three thickness’s.

Sorry for delayed reply, mine has the Broady touring tune with cases matched, standard derbi reeds but have bought some performance reeds for spare.i just run 25 delly carb as I’m more interested in bottom n midrange grunt than top speeds theses days but 75mph is more than ample for overtaking hgv. Also has 60/110 crank.

I would imagine that MB would advise putting a boost port in the barreL

Yes my MB touring tune has a boost port, im guessing having one is a necessity of any reed conversion though?

I've not got a boost port in my Mugello with Atomic / LTH reed, as it was a very basic build by myself and I don't have the tools or skill set to add one. That being said it performs great, far better than before the reed valve. It's only issue is the amount of spitback from the TMX27 Mikuni carb and yet it's still good on fuel.

How's the RT ?

Had to change the clutch as the four plate was slipping on the kickstart due to the compression. I've put the Readspeed 5 plate in.

MOT'd it on Friday and it's now done about 80k. Running it in and getting the carb dialled in, very little spit back at all.

Currently on -

Phbh30 with BGM hose and Filter
300 float valve
70 choke
50 pilot
AV 264 atomiser
x7 P2 needle
122 main
BGM v4 clubman
Fixed ignition on 18°

Pulls nicely and feels like it really wants to go. Standard SX 200 gearing.
