Anyone got an effective technique for fitting new (std) tyres onto new split rims. No matter what I am trying I cannot get the tyre onto the damn rim. Any help and suggestions very welcome. Thanks.

Use tyre paste on the edge of the tyre before you put the rim together. Then, when you finally inflate the tyre, the tyre will slide up the rim to its correct position.

As Paul says. a little tyre soap would help but I dont think Ive ever used anything on any of mine, inflating the inner tube pushes the tyre out. Tubless are another matter though

Leaving the tyre in the sun, on a day like today, makes it easier.
