Very late Li 150 colour

The very late Li150, square badge/plastic toolbox model.
Does anyone know what the blue used on panels and horncast was?

Thanks

Thanks for the info Tim. It would make sense for it to be, but I'm not sure as asking for someone who has emailed the enquiry.

Steve, I am restoring a white and blue ‘68 SX 150 with square badge.

I was unsure whether the blue was 8038, or the later GP150 blue. In researching what colour mine was, I remember coming across a picture of the model of S3 you refer to and I am pretty sure it is 8038, the same as early white and blue LI150.

There is a factory photo somewhere which shows the white / blue SX on the floor along side GPs (though not white / blue ones) - to my eye it looks very similar to the GP white / blue - which would suggest that they were painting that scheme at the same time as the GP was in production - you might think that it would be not too much of a stretch to imagine that if they were painting the scheme on one model they'd use the same on the other but you never know...

Pictures on the screen can be deceptive, especially if they've been scanned or digitised.

We're still on the look out for a decent match for the GP Ocean Blue

Just my personal view but I reckon the Li blue was much ‘bluer’ than the GP blue. This picture isn’t great and in real life it’s not as dark, but it’s different to the few original Li blues I’ve seen.

I have a tin of Lambretta touch up paint, its that lovely deep dark blue as seen on that famous Innocenti factory pic where UK dealers are looking at a row of red / white and blue / white SX150s with a GP in the background. Tin says " LI SX 150 OCEAN BLUE 9199.
Hope this helps,

Damn. I feared someone may say this and also provide some evidence :o

That said, other than the picture you refer to, I have never seen an SX150 with panels in that deep blue :?

If you look at the inside of my horn casting in the thread above, it doesn’t look like the GP ocean blue, to me anyway :D

People are very cagey about admitting to know any kind of match for the Ocean Blue but I will say that what's on the inside of your horncast looks very like what was in side my GP one.

I did spray a horncast in English Blue 8031 but it is very different again.
