Rear light

Just removed the lens from my rear light and saw not 2 but 4 holes? My immediate thought was the original holes must have stripped and another 2 had been drilled and tapped however after checking each hole with a screw they are all ok. So are there two holes to fix the reflector and 2 for the lens?

Would that be 2 for the lens and 2 for the reflector- or lighting board?

There lens came from several different makers ie aprilia cev,the screw holes were sited in different places.some light housing had 4 holes to enable use of either makers lens.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I discovered that was the case when I spoke to someone else today.
