Hi guys, just joined the LCGB and I'm very new to Lambrettas. I did have a Vespa 4 years ago and enjoyed it immensely. My dream was always to get a 1963 li 125 ser 3 which I now own (my age 57) a complete restoration done by Armando's Sheffield. I hope the members will be ok with me asking a few questions that will seem very simple to the hardened scooterist. Here goes. I don't intend to ride out in bad winter weather being inexperienced so is there anything special I need to keep on top of while the scooter is off road for a few months.

Hi Mark,
I suggest you go to the club shop and purchase Sticky's Lambretta manual (£25).
A small section on putting into storage but the book is a gold mine of info for even the most seasoned Lambretta owner.

Hi Mark, welcome to the Finest club in the world. At 57 I expect you're younger than most of the contributors on here lol. There's no such thing as a stupid question only stupid answers which Facebook is guilty of. I very rarely do anything to my scooters over winter because it then gives me loadsa work in the summer getting them running again. Seriously though there will be a number of things different people will suggest which all probably help. My main thing is kicking them over regularly and letting the motor tick over for a few minutes

Cheers Nick, I will do that and will be ordering Sticky's spanners manual as advised.
