Tapered roller fork steering bearings

These look interesting. They seem to be a variation on the ones Ian Franklin developed a few years ago. It appears they'll be available for both chrome ring and non-chrome ring machines. There is a write up on Scooterismo, but so far they're not yet available for purchase.

I wonder if the chrome ring one would fit an Li frame cut for gp bodywork. It would save cutting the fork stem in the middle. Just cut the inch off top and drop it in. There was always a lot of debate with the Taffspeed version as to if it made any difference or not to the steering

Hmmmm. If you read the blurb on this, it appears that ze germans who made this product are of the opinion that it is impossible to make the top bearing a taper roller hence this kit of theirs still retains a preloaded ball race for the upper bearing.
Should have gone to taffspeed, eh Ian? ;) ;)
