I've noticed that I don't have a oil throw washer on my drive side crank
Will it do any damage if it's left off

Judging but your name is this a '59 engine?? In which case they wernt fitted with one and you can't actaully fit one without quite a bit of modification.

Yes my lammy is a very early series 2 1959.
so I guess I don't need one ?
engine number is approx 9000 built and fitted to the series 2

Yeah s1's and early s2's dont have Them , it will be fine running as standard or mildly tuned top end, some people might advise against putting a high powered revvy kit on it without modifying the casing tho, what top end are you using?
