NEW ENGINE CASING - NO NUMBER...

Postby Covboy » Thu Feb 19, 2015 3:14 pm

Hi All

Apologies if this has already been covered, but I couldn't find a thread that matches..

So i have a new SIL casing hosting all the bits that make up a complete , new RB22 engine..the casing has no numbers stamped on it. This is going into my SX150 frame

The questions are:
1) do I need to get a new engine number assigned to it?
2) if so, how ? - I can't see anything that relates to this on the DVLA site.

Cheers

Covboy.

As above but might be worth stamping something on it eg your postcode in case it ever gets nicked. I must admit I've never stamped any of my Indian cases.

You only need a chassis number for the DVLA, they don't care about the engine. Good idea re the post code.

I stamped mine with the number that's in the logbook.
