Technical help for Series one, two and three Lambrettas. Models include the Li, Li Special, TV, SX, GP, Serveta and API/SIL models

Hi all, I have a 1963 Li 125, with totally standard engine, carb etc. The exhaust could do with replacing and I am thinking of upgrading to a 42mm clubman & a new carb to replace the sh1/18. Can I do this, if I can what carb should I use and what needles?
All help greatfully received.
Many thanks
Daz.

To answer the OPs question, if you're keeping the top end basically standard you might be as well to keep the 18 mm carb or possibly look for a 20, beyond that you'll probably just use more fuel for not much gain...

I'm willing to bet the advice being shovelled over the wall from Scotland is a darn sight more useful than the advice they've had shovelled the other way over the years!

No I am not Scottish!
